What About Neuromonics?

Could Neuromonics Be The Answer To Treating Tinnitus?

One of the more interesting and exciting methods of tinnitus treatment that seems to be gaining a bit of popularity lately is that of neuromonics.  We have already covered that tinnitus is the persistent ringing and buzzing in a person’s ears, which most of our readers probably know if they have landed on one of our pages anyway.  We have also looked at a few methods of tinnitus treatment and tried to compile some worthwhile information to help our readers on their quest for relief.  In the event when there is no associated cause, such as hypertension or even tumors, people often look into techniques like white noise, meditation, some surgeries as well as some medications in an effort to control it.  Only a doctor can direct treatment methods, but these are a few of the more well known and popular methods that you can find by doing an internet search for just a few minutes.

What about neuromonics though?  A lot of people don’t know what the practice is, but it has gotten good reviews, and has even been mentioned favorably on Medhelp as a way to help treat tinnitus in some patients effectively.  It has an odd sounding name and there is not a ton of information online about it.  Below are several points drawn straight from Neuromonics.com on what the device is in order to hopefully offer a bit more information.

The device looks quite a bit like a small Walkman or an MP3 player, but it provides an

Is a neuromonics device like white noise?  It wouldn’t appear to be that way.  It seems that it is far more specific to each user and it also is quite a bit more detailed in terms of the progression of treatment.  To paraphrase the page on the Process of Treatment, Stage 1 is about treating the symptoms and providing relief from tinnitus. Stage 2 is the point that lasting progress tends to be made, where the underlying issues of tinnitus are hopefully addressed and healed.

It should go without saying, but for our own sake and the sake of our readers, neuromonics is not something to go about alone.  It should only be done under the supervision of a physician to oversee the treatment.  While it may seem to be a grand solution to the problem of tinnitus, it may not work for everyone.

Is it worth talking with a physician about to at least get a bit more information?  Each person will have to make that decision on their own, but it is intriguing to say the least.  For anyone who has more questions about the device, as well as the process that encompasses neuromonics as a treatment, we encourage you to follow any of the outbound links listed above to go directly to the Neuromonics.com website.
